Painting with Kansai Matt Enamel

New Paint

New surfaces must be clean, dry and free from masonry salts.
Remove all defective or poorly adhering material by rubbing down using a suitable abrasive paper or stiff brush and dust off. Treat any area affected by mould, lichens, algae or moss with bleach. After priming new surfaces with masonry primer, spot fill the uneven surface using Kansai Wall Putty. Use 2 -3 coats of Kansai Wall Putty with putty applicator. Scuff the surface with sand paper and dust off after each coat.

Repaint for Sound Surface

Remove all defective or poorly adhering material by rubbing down using a suitable abrasive paper and dust off. Spot fill the surface with Kansai wall putty and repeat the above mentioned procedure accordingly.

For Wood and Metal

Surface should be free from oil, grease, rust and dirt. Apply a coat of appropriate primer. Allow it to dry completely. Scuff the surface and dust off.

Repaint for powdery, dusty surfaces, cracks & other surface defects

Scrap down all the defective and poorly adhering material by rubbing with suitable abrasive paper or stiff brush. Repair minor defects. For large holes and cracks, use sand and cement mixture. Allow it to dry. Spot fill the uneven surface using Kansai Wall Putty. Use 2 -3 coats of Kansai Wall Putty with putty applicator. Scuff the surface with sand paper and dust off after each coat.

Finishing

After surface preparation, apply a thin coat of Kansai Premium Matt Enamel for binding any leftover residual powder due to scuffing. Thin down the finish for this purpose by 20-30% with mineral turpentine. Apply 2 or more subsequent coats of Kansai Premium Matt Enamel as recommended in PRODUCT INFORMATION. Stir thoroughly before use.
